Sydney Swans visit Gunbalanya to promote healthy lifestyles

On 12 November 2025, Gunbalanya welcomed a special visit from the Sydney Swans! During the day, the Swans visited local classrooms to talk about the harms of smoking and the importance of living a healthy, active lifestyle.
In the evening, the team hosted a community footy kick-around at the oval, giving away merchandise and serving up a barbecue for everyone. The visit was part of a region-wide tour across West Arnhem, aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of smoking and how to stay smoke-free.
The event was supported by West Arnhem Regional Council, with Clontarf helping to run the barbecue and feed the crowd. Gunbalanya Sport and Recreation Team Leader, Harry Tidmarsh, said, “The Swans team, with support from the ADF, were fantastic. Their ability to connect with the community and make the kids feel special was truly something great to be part of.”
