Reminder about new Jabiru By-Laws

This is an important reminder about the new West Arnhem Regional Council (Jabiru Town) By-Laws 2024 regarding animals in the Jabiru township.
Some penalties related to dog and animal management have increased, specifically:

• Keeping prohibited animals (such as cats and chickens); and
• Penalties for dog attacks.

Please remember:

Dog Ownership Regulations

• A maximum of two dogs per household is permitted.
• All dogs must be registered and kept under control at all times.

Prohibited Animals

• Keeping prohibited animals will result in high penalties.

Responsible Pet Ownership

• Ensure your dogs are registered.
• Keep your dogs on a leash when in public areas.
• Do not allow your dogs to become a nuisance through excessive barking or aggressive behaviour.

Council encourages all residents to familiarise themselves with the new regulations and appreciates the community’s input and cooperation.
