NAIDOC Week Celebrations Across the Region Mark '50 Years of Deadly'

Communities across West Arnhem have come together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC Week, with this year's theme, "50 Years of Deadly," bringing people together through culture, sport and community activities.
In Minjilang, the community enjoyed a vibrant NAIDOC Colour Run, proudly supported by ALPA and West Arnhem Regional Council. Young participants ran through the stations while Council staff joined in the fun throwing coloured powder, before everyone gathered for a barbecue.
In Gunbalanya, local young people celebrated with a friendly football match on the oval, followed by a barbecue with family and friends. Aged Care clients also enjoyed a NAIDOC breakfast at the billabong.
The Maningrida Pool was the perfect place to hold the celebrations, with community members enjoying a refreshing swim and sausage sizzle.
