The highly anticipated 2025 Kakadu Triathlon is set to take over the Jabiru Swimming Pool and surrounding residential roads on Saturday, 10 May 2025 - and online registrations are now open!

Proudly hosted by West Arnhem Regional Council, this much-loved community event is known for its achievable distances, vibrant atmosphere, and welcoming spirit, making it perfect for participants of all ages and abilities.

Now in its 12th year, the Kakadu Triathlon is more than just a race with it’s sense of community, inclusion and generosity. Last year’s event saw 150 competitors raising an impressive $21,117 for CareFlight Top End, which has provided lifesaving aeromedical services to over 7,900 people in the Northern Territory since the 2024 event alone.

West Arnhem Regional Council Mayor James Woods said he is proud of the community's ongoing support for this vital cause.

“It’s heart-warming to see so many participants and supporters come together for such an important event,” Mayor Woods said.

“The funds raised through the Kakadu Triathlon make a real difference to CareFlight’s operations across our region, and it’s a privilege to be part of that.”

This year’s program has expanded to include new challenges and something for everyone:

  • Open Triathlon (Ages 14+; individual or teams of 2–3)
    Swim: 250m | Bike: 7.5km | Run: 2.5km

  • 5km Kakadu Run Challenge (Ages 12+)

  • 2.5km Kakadu Challenge Walk

  • 5km Kakadu Challenge Run

  • Junior Triathlon (Ages 13 and under; distances vary by ability)

If you're new to triathlons or just looking to give it a go, this is the perfect opportunity to join a fun, supportive community event set against the stunning backdrop of Jabiru and Kakadu.
