More than 150 people turned out to participate in and celebrate the 2023 Kakadu Triathlon on Saturday, 29 April.
Celebrating 10 years of the triathlon this year, it was fantastic to see so many people come to Jabiru to take on the challenge of the open and junior triathlons and the inaugural 5km Kakadu Challenge Run.

To reflect on the 10 year anniversary, an event founding member Andy Ralph gave a special speech about the history of the triathlon which started in 2013. There was also past event memorabilia on display, and the 2023 event singlets design were replicated from the original design in 2014.

Coordinated by West Arnhem Regional Council, the triathlon continues to get bigger and better with the added Colour Fun Run around the Jabiru Lake which was held before the triathlon.  The major sponsors of the colour run were ALPA and NBN and all fund raised were donated to CareFlight. We wish to thank the generous sponsors and the incredible volunteers and organisations who assisted.
The total amount of money raised from both the Kakadu Triathlon and the Colour Run this year was $18,103. There were also special prizes for the individuals who raised the most money, donated by Kakadu Tourism.
A huge thank you to the race director Lucas Hayden and race officials Gary Wall, Tim Ellison, Lucy Berk, Darwin Triathlon Club and Triathlon NT.

An extra special thank you to all of the incredible volunteers, the CareFlight team and Chris Garner, Police and Emergency Services, and also a very big thank you to the Council pool staff and works crew.

This event wouldn’t be possible without the generous sponsors and supporters: West Arnhem Regional Council, Blueridge Engineering, ERA, EDL, Veolia, NORTRUSS, Dig Hard Excavations, Darwin Triathlon Club, Sodexo, Intensity Sports, the Crocodile Hotel, Triathlon NT, NBN, Peter Keepence Photography, ALPA, Kakadu Tourism, Kakadu National Park and Puma.
