Creative activities during school holidays
The Jabiru school holiday program facilitated by the West Arnhem Regional Council Sport and Recreation and Library teams have been keeping the young people active and busy.
Each day, around 20 young people have participated in the activities, and at times, there were even more, joining in with their parents and carers.
The activities including arts and crafts, computer and video games, Lego and board games, have all been taking place at the Community Hall and the Library.
While the Clontarf and Stars Academies and Caufield Grammar are away on school holidays, Leah, from Sport and Recreation, moves focus to the creative activities supported by the Jabiru library staff.
Local resident Tarnia has been volunteering and sharing her skills with the local children, guiding them to build a magnificent Kinga. This has been the biggest school holiday project iso far and the finished product will be on display within the next two weeks.
Do you have a skill or a hobby you would like to voluntarily share with your community and the Sport and Recreation team, either during the day, after school, in the evening or a once off event. Dance, music, creative writing or art just to suggest a few. Please contact Leah at Council.
