The spirited community of Jabiru came alive with energy and excitement on Saturday, 10 May, as more than 140 adults and 39 children took part in the 2025 Kakadu Triathlon.
Proudly hosted by West Arnhem Regional Council, the much-loved annual event raised an outstanding $16,400 for CareFlight NT, with this year marking the triathlon’s 12th successful edition.
Known for its vibrant atmosphere and achievable distances, the Kakadu Triathlon continues to attract participants of all ages and abilities and this year’s event saw record numbers.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Kakadu National Park, the triathlon is also a short-course event which is all about inclusivity and participation.
Highlighting the true spirit of community, the event received a generous boost from Blue Cycles, who donated five bikes to young participants from the Gunbalanya community, enabling them to join in and enjoy the event alongside athletes from across the region.
West Arnhem Regional Council Mayor James Woods praised the community for their continued support.
“It’s heart-warming to see so many people come together for such an important cause,” Mayor Woods said. “The funds raised through the Kakadu Triathlon make a real difference to CareFlight’s vital work in our region, and it’s a privilege to be part of that.”
West Arnhem Regional Council extends its sincere thanks to the dedicated staff, volunteers, officials, sponsors, and enthusiastic spectators who helped make the 2025 event so memorable.
