Community send off for a journey of a lifetime

The Minjilang community came together on Monday, 19 October, to give local runner Nathaniel Cooper (aka Sooper Cooper) a huge send-off as he prepares for the trip of a lifetime to New York City!
Nathaniel is heading to the United States to compete in the iconic TCS New York City Marathon as part of the Indigenous Marathon Project squad, proudly representing Minjilang and First Nations peoples of Australia on the international stage.
Community members and representatives from West Arnhem Regional Council, Mamaruni School, Red Lily Clinic and ALPA gathered at the Minjilang basketball court to celebrate Nathaniel's incredible achievement and wish him well.
Facilitated by Red Lily Clinic, the farewell included a community barbecue provided by Council, basketball and a special banner created by Mamaruni School to show their support.
