WARC-Community Care Officer Ida

Pictured is Warruwi’s Community Care Senior Officer Ida Waianga, with West Arnhem Regional Council, who is assisting Douglas Djalanba to complete forms following his referral to access services through the My Aged Care webpage.
Ida, who works tirelessly to support his community and promote aged care services, had been approached by Mr Djalanba who advised Ida he would like to access the meals on wheels and receive some help at home. To assist, Ida started the process of helping Douglas with his referral on the My Aged Care webpage with a minor helping hand from Lee in Jabiru. Ida then helped Douglas to fill out other important forms afterwards.
If you know of someone in your community who would benefit from aged care services, contact the service in your community or talk to your local Council Services Manager. To be eligible for aged care services, Indigenous applicants must be at least 50 years old and be assessed as suitable to receive services.
Ida Waianga, Warruwi’s Community Care Senior Officer said, “I love my community and enjoy being able to help the older people with providing them breakfast and lunch with meals on wheels and at home help if they require assistance or items for their daily life. I am happy to help people fill the forms who enquire about accessing aged care services, and always looking for people who I think would benefit from this service.”
