Collaborative school holiday program

In December 2024 the Minjilang Sport and Recreation team held their first ‘Minjilang Master Chef and Fishing day’ as part of their jam packed school holiday program. Due to popular demand, on Friday 17 January 2025, West Arnhem Regional Council’s Sport and Recreation team in Minjilang held the second round of ‘Minjilang Master chef and fishing day’ which was another huge success. The series was designed to support healthy food choices and connection to culture and shows our teams dedication to their community. Well done once again to our Minjilang Sport and Recreation team!
Sport and Recreation Officer Sophia Lee said, “The kids responded really well to our first session of ‘Minjilang Master Chef and Fishing’ and so we really had to make sure we did it again for them before school goes back. It is so nice spending time with the kids, teaching them about cooking healthy food and sourcing their own bush tucker from the ocean! It was a really fun day had by all”.
