Collaboration at Jabiru Community Day

The Jabiru community enjoyed a cheerful gathering on Saturday, 1 February 2025, at the Jabiru pool.
Following the Jabiru Bombers home games, residents of all ages shared a fun-filled afternoon with plenty of activities.
Families and community members participated in the crocwise stall by Kakadu National Park, tug-o-war, casting activities, marco polo and water games with Caulfield Grammar.
Children played in the dedicated childcare zone, while pool toys added to the day's enjoyment and everyone enjoyed the delicious lunch provided.
A highlight of the event was the Citizen of the Year Awards presented by West Arnhem Regional Council Councillor Mickitja Onus, which recognised the valuable contributions of local community members.
The winners were:
Community Event of the Year – Jabiru Biathlon
Young Citizen of the Year – Casey Day
Citizen of the Year – Heidi Walton
There was also a lucky door prize giveaway of a traditional painting done by Abel Naborlhborl and Abel was present to give it to the lucky winner Kelsey Wilson.
The event was assist by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council, and the West Arnhem Regional Council, showcasing the community's ability to come together and celebrate local spirit.
