West Arnhem Regional Council is rolling out an exciting youth education initiative these school holidays, focusing on engaging young people in a powerful 'Caring for Country' message. Across the region, kids will take part in a creative project aimed at raising awareness about the impact of litter and how we all can play a part in litter reduction.
As part of the initiative, SoundED, will visit each West Arnhem community to collaborate with young people on creating a regional song. The song, focusesd on "Stop the Drop," will highlight how litter affects Country, combining video, music, and lyrics to deliver a message of sustainability in a fun and interactive way.
West Arnhem Regional Council Services Manager, Geri Narul, expressed her excitement about the initiative.
Geri said, “Our goal is to see our West Arnhem Communities waste-free in the near future and this project is a great way to send a strong message to everyone across the West Arnhem communities about how important it is to look after our country.”
Council looks forward to seeing the results and encourages everyone to stay tuned for updates on the song’s release and upcoming community events where the final project will be launched. This project has been funded by NIAA.
