Building strong leadership across West Arnhem
West Arnhem Regional Council elected members are continuing to build their knowledge and skills through professional development training focused on strong leadership and good governance.
All elected council members in the Northern Territory are required to complete the training within 6 months of being elected.
It covers key areas including roles and responsibilities, the Code of Conduct, conflicts of interest, council finances and decision-making.
Pictured are Kakadu Ward Councillors Dwane Baker and Ralph Blyth taking part in the training.
New Warruwi Ward Councillor Geraldine Narul will also begin the training following her recent election.
Delivered by the Northern Territory Government, the training helps councillors build the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions and effectively represent their communities.
