West Arnhem Regional Council (WARC) recently partnered with Dream Impact Inspire to deliver an engaging program of activities for young people in Gunbalanya from 16–18 June.
The team facilitated Boxing and DJ workshops at both Gunbalanya School and the Gunbalanya Youth Centre, giving participants the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, stay active, and explore their creativity through sport and music.
The program created a positive and supportive environment where young people could connect with each other, develop new interests, and have fun while participating in meaningful activities.
Designed to support health and wellbeing, encourage positive youth engagement, and provide opportunities for skill development, the sessions combined physical fitness, teamwork, creativity, and self-expression.
By delivering activities across both the school and Youth Centre, the program provided access for a wide range of young people in the community to participate and benefit from the experience.
WARC Youth, Sport and Recreation Team Leader in Gunbalanya, Harry Tidmarsh, said programs like these play an important role in supporting young people to try new things and build positive connections.
“Programs like these give young people the chance to step outside their comfort zones, discover new interests, and connect with others in a supportive and enjoyable environment,” Harry said.
