Afterschool basketball competition in Jabiru

On Thursday 6 February 2025, West Arnhem Regional Council’s Youth, Sport and Recreation team in Jabiru held the first session of after school basketball. 
This event will complement the ever growing after school activities that council support within Jabiru and will occur every second Thursday throughout the school term. 
The session saw a great turnout and participants engaged well to ensure a fun and energising session.
We are engaging stakeholders such as Caulfield Grammar and Red Lily who have tentatively offered to assist with this program.
Youth, Sport and Recreation Officer Leah Holt-Narul said, “It was great to see such an amazing turn out of kids for our first session! It was so good watching them play and interact on the court and I am really looking forward to see how this program progresses throughout the term.”
