Adults vs Students football in Gunbalanya

On Thursday, 29 January, Gunbalanya’s Clontarf Foundation organised a big adults vs students football game with support from West Arnhem Regional Council’s (WARC) Youth, Sport and Recreation team.
We had a huge turnout with more than 50 players on the Gunbalanya oval at once. After the game, everyone enjoyed a barbecue. 
The purpose of the event was to bring the community together and to have an enjoyable fun time while being active. 
Teachers volunteered to cook the barbecue while the game was happening. 
WARC Youth, Sport and Recreation Team Leader Harry Tidmarsh said, “The adults vs students game was a great way to bring everyone together in a fun and positive environment. Seeing more than 50 people out on the field at the same time, followed by everyone sharing a barbecue, made it a really special afternoon that highlighted the strong community spirit here in Gunbalanya. I’d also like to acknowledge and thank Marty and Rhys from the Clontarf Foundation for organising this amazing event.”
