Warruwi NAIDOC Week

Warruwi came together on Thursday, 21 August for one huge day of NAIDOC Week celebrations, with 107 people – including students, Elders and local stakeholders – taking part.
The day began with a NAIDOC march through the community, joined by a convoy of stakeholder vehicles, before an Acknowledgement of Country set the tone for the celebrations.
From there, the fun kicked off with a wide range of activities including basketball, painting, tug-o-war, weaving, egg and spoon races, a didgeridoo competition and sack races.
West Arnhem Regional Council thanks Warruwi School for hosting and sharing their facilities, as well as all Warruwi stakeholders, Elders and Gunbalanya Meats for their valued contributions.
These NAIDOC Week celebrations were proudly funded by the National Indigenous Australians Agency.
