Territory day fireworks

Maningrida celebrated Territory Day on 1 July 2024!

It was a great evening with a huge crowd and an even bigger fireworks display at the Maningrida Oval.

Huge thank you to the Maningrida Community and West Arnhem Regional Council team for putting on a great event.
West Arnhem Regional Council had the works team for security around the boundary, the sport and recreation team facilitated the barbecue and oval lights, post office staff helped with traffic control and Council administration also helped coordinate and control traffic. Territory Day recognises the day the NT gained power, from the Commonwealth Government, to self-govern in 1978. Every year on 1 July, Territorians come together to officially celebrate everything we love about this amazing place we call home.

Territory day in jabiru

The Jabiru Community celebrated Territory Day on 1 July with an incredible fireworks display held over the scenic Jabiru Lake.

This is always the perfect location to view the official fireworks display with spectators lining up their own chairs and blankets on the grassed area at the lake park.

An incredible crowd of 300 people, including community members and tourists, turned out to watch the fireworks spectacle, enjoy the music, atmosphere and playing on the playground.

West Arnhem Regional Council wishes to all of the volunteers who helped with the barbecue dinner.
