Warruwi works wonders

17 February 2014

IT’S not an easy job to beautify one of the more beautiful places on the Top End coast. But this is the unenviable task that West Arnhem Regional Council workers face in the community of Warruwi on South Goulburn Island.

Council Services Manager Nathan McIvor contacted The Wire a couple of days ago, sending through some photos of Civil guys installing park benches and tables around the community.

“I’ll send some of them actually doing some work later on – LOL,” Nathan writes. “This is part of the beautification project. Road signs have been installed around community (last week) and the benches and tables this week. It’s already lifted the community up a bit and people have stated they are a good idea.

“The next phase is to complete painting the rocks as you enter the community. This will be done in the dry season.”
