Men's AFL competition kicks off in Maningrida

07 February 2018

Men's football is back for another season in Maningrida, with this year’s competition shaping up to be just as big as 2017.
Last week, round one kicked off with the first game of the season between the Hawks and the Tigers.
Despite the monsoonal weather it was still a great round of fixtures.
This year’s competition includes 11 teams with approximately 250 registered players.
The teams are Lions, Seagulls, Buffalos, Saints, Crows, Magpies, Hawks, Tigers, Carlton, Baru and Bombers.
The season will have 22 rounds and a finals series with the competition finishing up in July.
Last year saw the Lions defeat the Seagulls in front of about 4000 spectators, in what was a huge grand final event.
Good luck to all the teams for the upcoming season.
