Important information for the 2017 NT Council Election

Voting for the 2017 NT Council elections will take place in West Arnhem communities commencing this Thursday, August 16, with mobile voting teams travelling throughout the region until the close of business on Thursday, August 24. 
Residents are reminded that voting is compulsory. However,  on this occasion, it is not necessary to hold an election for Gunbalanya Ward as there were only three nominations for the three available seats.
West Arnhem Regional Council consists of 12 elected members, including 2 representatives in the Barrah Ward; 3 in the Kakadu Ward; 3 in the Gunbalanya Ward and 4 members in the Maningrida Ward.
