Girl Guides empowering young women

09 February 2017

Girl Guides Emily Francis and Kylara Morris fundraising at the recent BlueLight Disco.

The recently-established Jabiru Girl Guides held a fundraising evening at the BlueLight Disco.
The Jabiru Girl Guides is a part of the international Girl Guide movement and their mission is to empower girls and young women to grow into confident, self-respecting, responsible community members.
Jabiru Guides unit meets after school on Thursday in a classroom at the Jabiru Area School during school term.
Presently, the unit caters for girls aged 8-12 years and there is currently 9 active Guides and 2 leaders.
Girl Guides may consider taking older/younger girls if we have another adult volunteer to train as a leader or parent helper.
The program is developed from Guides interests and has a strong community focus.
