Draft plan up for comment

West Arnhem Regional Council (WARC) has released its Draft Regional Plan & Budget for 2017/18 and is seeking community feedback on the document.
WARC Mayor James Marrawal said this year’s Regional Plan is an important plan which shapes a sustainable future for the West Arnhem communities including Gunbalanya, Maningrida, Jabiru, Warruwi and Minjilang, and provides direction for Council over the next 12 months.
“The Regional Plan and Budget outlines our strategies to achieve the unique visions of each of our communities, to complete projects and deliver important services,” Mayor Marrawal said.
WARC Chief Executive Officer Brian Hylands encourages community feedback and discussion on the Regional Plan and Budget, to help Council provide the best services for the region.
“We encourage all members of Council’s five West Arnhem communities to provide their feedback,” he said.
Copies of the Draft Regional Plan are available on the West Arnhem Regional Council website, at the Jabiru Council Office or by contacting Council by phone or email. Feedback and comments must be submitted by 5pm on Thursday, July 6 and can be sent by email to info@westarnhem.nt.gov.au or by mail to Chief Executive Officer, PO Box 721, Jabiru NT 0886.
