Day to celebrate our Leaders of tomorrow

07 August 2020

Warruwi School celebrated National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day on Tuesday, August 4. The theme this year was ‘Elders of Tomorrow’. Families, Elders and other agencies in the community came together to participate in a range of activities throughout the day. The day concluded with a traditional dance and scavenger hunt.
Warruwi Community Care staff and clients joined the Warruwi School to celebrate the occasion.
Overall, it was a lovely day shared by all to celebrate Mardbalk Elders of tomorrow.
The Children's Day 2020 theme: 'We are the Elders of tomorrow, hear our voice' honours our Elders – custodians of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditional knowledge, passed down to our children through stories and cultural practice.
